If you missed the fabulous launch party at Tumbulgum Tavern on 16 August hosted by Tumbulgum Community Association, be sure not to miss what promises to be THE family event of 2016 right here in the historic village of Tumbulgum on Saturday 12 November. Save the date now!
Over 100 locals, dignitaries Geoff Provest MP, Cr Barry Longland, Council staff Tracey Stinson, Jane Lofthouse and Kerrie McConnell, and TCA members and friends turned out to launch Tumbulgum Celebrates 150 Years and 2016 Tweed River Festival with a colourful splash!
The surprise entertainment of the night was Lissy Stanton, vocalist, pianist and Tumbulgum resident, accompanied by son Luke on drums, performing with That Hula Hoop Girl Asta Godden. The mesmerising, illuminated performance gave us a sneak peek into what is planned for the main celebration on November 12th, which will include the River Festival Lantern Parade and a Tumbulgum Laser show.
Nine lucky people went away with lucky door prizes including a river cruise with Mount Warning Tours, voucher to House of Gabriel, gift vouchers from Birdwing Cafe & Curios, Photo session and photos by Kate Nutt Photography, gift basket by Tomewin Serenity Oils, and a bottle of Ink Gin from North Tumbulgum’s Husk Distillers.
TCA sends a huge thanks to all our generous sponsors especially the management and staff of Tumbulgum Tavern who provided venue and delicious nibbles – the smoked salmon hors d’oeuvres were the best! We can’t wait for the big party on 12th November.
