Voice Weavers Choir is an a cappella choir from the Southern Gold Coast/Tweed area that was established in 2005.

We sing in (mostly) four-part harmony, enjoying a wide variety of styles ranging from pop, rock and other contemporary music to classical, gospel, world music, folk and musical theatre. Our singers learn their parts at home and attend weekly rehearsals so that we can all perform without holding any music. Many of our songs are accompanied by choreography that adds an element of difficulty for our performers but is always appreciated by our audiences.

We’re a mixed choir of 40+ members ranging in age from 10 to over 70, and we’ve sung at a wide range of events up and down the coast. We perform at private gatherings, corporate functions, community events and everything in between. Performances include our own concerts as well as shows we’ve been invited to perform in, such as the Bleach Festival, Burleigh Heads Carols by Candlelight, the Tweed River Lantern Festival and many others.

We also perform overseas every three years, starting with a singing tour to China to coincide with Expo 2010 and followed by an international choir competition in Vietnam in 2013, where we received two silver awards. In July 2016 we travelled to Sochi, Russia, to compete in the World Choir Games along with 283 choirs and 12,000 participants from 76 nations. At this huge event, we added two more silver awards to our collection.

Our mission statement is, ‘Voice Weavers aims to be recognised as a choir that enjoys presenting innovative and entertaining vocal and visual arrangements at the highest international standards whilst maintaining involvement with the community’.
